As a wedding only usually happens once in your life, you really want it to run smoothly and for the evening reception to be a fantastic night with lots of great music and dancing.
After all, it's a major part of the event, usually there are more guests at the evening party than at the actual ceremony, and it can go on for a long time, quite often from 7.30pm to midnight or 1am ( depending on the venue ).
There's nearly always a wide range of age groups, so you need a DJ who is comfortable playing a wide range of music, and who is able to use a microphone to arrange the "first dance" and make any other announcements throughout the evening.
I always ensure that the "first dance" is a special moment, before I invite the Bride and Groom onto the dancefloor, I ask for the guests to gather around, this makes a nice atmosphere and allows for some great photo's to be taken, as in the picture below....
New for 2010, White Starlit Dancefloor available !
This new Dancefloor is just fantastic.
Beautiful Pure White floor with Twinkling White LED's.

Please see Pricing page for details of my new Ultimate Package !

Picture thanks to Lawson Photography.
I begin at around 7.15pm with some easy going music.
This is also a good time to display some pictures of the day on my 42" LCD screens, assuming the photographer has provided me with some. This is a fantastic new service that I have recently introduced.
NOTE; The screens are only included on my Premium package. See "Equipment" and "Pricing" for more details.

I can also show pictures of the Stag and Hen nights ! This is always good fun, and to add to the effect, I'll play some appropiate accompanying music. For example; Here Come The Girls for the Hen Night pics, and maybe The Boys Are Back In Town for the Stag Night pictures.
And if you had your Wedding Ceremony abroad, and are having an Evening Party, then I can show your pictures and video on the screens.

Around 8pm - 8.30pm I usually have a few people dancing, and I announce the First Dance at approx 8.45pm. This seems the best time.
Halfway through the First Dance, I then invite all of the guests to join in, this is a fantastic moment ! But if you prefer to have the whole of the song to yourselves, then that's fine aswell.
After the First Dance, it's dancing all the way untill the Buffet is served, normally that's ready at 9.30pm.
I keep playing music during the Buffet, but at a quiet volume, so if any guests want to continue dancing rather than eating, that's fine with me.
As soon as the Buffet is finished, I really get the party started ! All your fave tunes and party classics are played untill 1am.
I always finish the night with a song that everyone can join in with, something like New York New York or Never Forget.
I always set up the equipment in the morning of the event, this way, your guests don’t have to see ( and hear ) it all being set up and sound checked.
If it's a Civil Ceromony, then I will set up after the service.
All of the equipment looks very neat, with no tatty speakers or wires trailing everywhere and no advertising banners .

The above picture is of the Premium DJ Option and Starlit Dancefloor.
(When the Starlit Floor isnt used, I use a Black Starcloth DJ Booth.)

In this picture you can see that although the Premium DJ Option is a large "rig", it does blend in with the surroundings and doesnt look out of place.
Remember that if you fancy a chat in person, I'm happy to meet you at Formby Hall at any time.
